I'm so so glad Italy won! But as usual, I'm sad for the other team, France, coz they're so kelian. When I saw them cry after they lost the penalty shootout, my heart goes out to them.
I really wonder what Materazzi had said to provoke Zidane. It must have been quite vicious. When I saw the replay of the head-butt by Zidane, I was like 'Wah lau, this is childish loh'. Zidane's departure with the red card is the last we'll ever see of him as a player. So ultra-sad. And he didn't even come out to receive his medal as 1st runner-ups. Even more ultra-sadness. Nevertheless, the world will still remember him as a great great hero in footballing history.
Anyway, the rumour in France about the French team paying the Brazilian team 25 million Euro (if I'm not wrong should be in Euro dollars) to lose in the quarter-finals seems possible to me. Why the hell would Parreira field a team who had already proved themselves ineffective in the WC qualifying? Why no Adriano? Why had Juninho and some others who had been left out from the starting line-up all along been used in such an important match? Why the sudden change in formation/tactic? Why the hell would the stupid Brazilian (dunno who) who was beside Henry not follow him when he went up to receive Zizou's free kick (I saw the replay and it was damn obvious that he purposely left Henry unmarked coz he was still staring at Henry when Henry ran up loh!)? Too many questions left unanswered.
Okay, too much soccertalk. But this will be the last bit of it since World Cup Germany '06 is now officially over.
